Art, culture & sustainability

Our philosophy

Vereinigte Bühnen Wien stands for musical theatre with attitude: artistically diverse, internationally networked and at the same time firmly rooted in Vienna. We combine tradition with innovation, focus on our own productions with international appeal and take responsibility for society and the environment.

Sustainability

Vereinigte Bühnen Wien operates as a European player on the international market. With clearly positioned programmes in its three historic venues – Ronacher, Raimund Theater and Theater an der Wien – and active production activities, VBW is an attractive cultural provider for music lovers at home and abroad. Efficient action and flexible responses to current developments form the basis of its management.

We take responsibility for the environment and society. As a Wien Holding company, we support the environmental goals of the City of Vienna and review all our activities for their ecological impact – without losing sight of our core business, musical theatre. At the same time, we see ourselves as a cultural anchor: in challenging times, we want to offer stability, inspiration and community – with professionalism, expertise and humanity.

Marvel, discover, experience – theatrical magic for young people and anyone who loves musicals and opera!

Music Theatre Education

Access to the world of musical theater should be open to as many people as possible. At the same time, we want to lay the foundation for enthusiasm for music, stories, and stage experiences at an early age. Musical theater education and cultural education are therefore a central part of our work and our philosophy.

Since 2015:

VBW helps people in need

The Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (VBW) and its employees have been supporting people in need for years. We collect donations, organise charity events and provide assistance in the event of disasters such as floods, earthquakes or accidents – for example in Austria, Haiti or Fukushima – as well as AIDS relief.
